Tahtalı (Olympos)
Tahtalı Mountain, known in antiquity as Lycian Olympus, rises to 2,365 meters on the edge of the Mediterranean coast near Kemer, making it one of the most dramatic mountain-to-sea landscapes in Turkey. The Olympos Teleferik cable car — the longest in Europe — rockets visitors from a base station amid cedar forests to the snowy summit in just ten minutes, rewarding them with panoramic views stretching up to 50 kilometers along the Turkish Riviera. At the top, the experience goes far beyond scenery. A mountain restaurant, observation terraces, paragliding launches, a bungee catapult, and ancient hiking trails (including the Lycian Way) make a half-day or full-day excursion here. The mountain's name echoes its mythological past: ancient locals called it Olympus — abode of the gods — and a temple of Hephaestus once stood on its slopes.
