A Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center
Tucked into a restored frame house on Gainesville's northwest side, the A. Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center honors one of Alachua County's most influential educators and, through him, the African-American community he helped shape. Housed in the former Jones family home at 1013 NW Seventh Avenue, the small museum pairs a permanent exhibit on "Prof" Jones with oral histories and rotating shows that give voice to the people and places of the historic Fifth Avenue/Pleasant Street neighborhood. It is an intimate, story-driven stop rather than a sprawling attraction—ideal for travelers drawn to civil-rights history, Black educational legacy and local memory, and a meaningful complement to a day in downtown Gainesville.
