Botanical Gardens
Founded in 1765, the St. Vincent Botanical Gardens is the oldest botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere — a living museum of Caribbean horticultural history spread across roughly twenty acres on the edge of Kingstown. Here you can walk beneath the original breadfruit tree brought from Tahiti by Captain William Bligh, spot the endangered St. Vincent Parrot (the national bird), and admire the lone surviving Soufriere tree, the country's national flower.
