Hồ Thành Công
Thanh Cong Lake (Hồ Thành Công) is a clear, stone-embanked sheet of water in the heart of Hanoi, cradled inside Indira Gandhi Park at the meeting point of the Láng Hạ, Huỳnh Thúc Kháng, Nguyên Hồng and Thành Công streets. Of the park's roughly 8.6 hectares, the lake itself covers about 5.9 hectares, making it one of the inner city's green lungs and a place where the capital's everyday rhythm is at its most relaxed. It is not a monument or a museum, and that is part of its charm. Come at dawn or in the cool of the evening and you join thousands of locals walking, jogging and exercising around a 1.2-kilometre loop, with a fountain playing in the middle of the water and a bust of the Indian prime minister the park is named for standing watch toward the main gate. It is a genuinely lived-in slice of Hanoi, free to enter and open all hours.
