Wonderful location (next to the station, where you can also find lots of great restaurants, coffeeshops and shops) and just a nice 15-minute walk to Himeji Castle. Incredible breakfast buffet (one of the best I've had in Japan!). Not only is it on the 14th floor with views of Himeji castle, there's a great variety of Japanese and Western dishes, fresh and prepared in front of you. The rooms are very clean and very quiet (despite being next to the station). Just be aware that only the suite rooms have a view of Himeji Castle. On-site Parking for a 1000 yen till 12 noon the next day. One negative point: the "public bath" is (much) too small for the size of the hotel/number of rooms, so there can be a rather (long) wait, and the locker room can feel very crowded. Check the online information (on the tv in your room) when you plan your bath (or just use the bathroom in your room).

When we arrived at this hotel, we where welcomed with warm friendly staff. We where driving and stopping here as part of our road trip. The parking was very difficult to find and we had to park in a different parking area. Our room was a twin room with easy access via lift. Room was spotless and spacious. Attention to detail in the room was nice. Bathroom was very small however, no issues. The hotel was in a great location and close to subway lines. Overall, we had a great stay in this hotel and would recommend except for the parking issue.

Stayed in this chain of hotels before. As usual, service is impeccable. Monterey Himeji is ideally located, near train station, shopping and food joints. It is also quite close to Himeji castle as well. For those who drive, there is a private car park and there are staff stationed to help direct parking. Although the hotel is connected to the adjacent shopping mall, security and privacy is good - away from the hustle and bustle of crowds.

The location is unbeatable, right next to the station with plenty of food and shopping options nearby. The hotel feels luxurious, almost like a five-star experience, with clean, well-maintained rooms and quality finishes throughout. I stayed solo in a twin room, which was very spacious. During sakura season, it was especially convenient to walk to Himeji Castle via Miyuki Street Shopping District. I could visit the castle at different times of the day to enjoy the changing views of the blossoms. A very comfortable and well-located choice if you’re visiting Himeji.

A large, bright hotel just minutes from the station with a warm welcome. Lovely room with cosy beds and everything we needed. Additionally, there were several useful items one could loan. When I booked, breakfast wasn’t included but we could add for ¥3500. There were so many cafes nearby that we didn’t take this option. Washers and dryers with an app (or coins) to pay were so useful and incredibly good value. Fab products. We were really impressed.

I’ve just checked in and unfortunately I’m disappointed. The room has no drawers for our clothes, just a tiny closet with a few hangers. But they put a small table and an extra chair NEXT to the room desk (that already has a chair…) instead of a small chest of drawers. The bathroom has amenities but the light is quite dim. There is not enough light for wearing make up or shaving for men. Also, since the Obon festival is starting in two days, they have already closed their laundry service which I was counting on since I’ve been in Japan for almost a week and I needed to wash our clothes. Now I’m at an old laundromat waiting for it to be done…

Stayed 2 nights in April. Walking distance from Himeiji Castle, breakfast at level 14 offers window view of the castle. Room was clean and spacious, with a small dining table for tea. Lobby reminded me of Disney hotel. Excellent service provided. Our rental car could not start on the morning of our check out and we were late for a scheduled art class near the hotel. Upon approaching the reception for a lan line to make a local phone call to reschedule our appointment, the staff sought further details on our situation and volunteered to help us make the call so that she could help to speak to the art teacher in Japanese to reschedule the session. Thank you for the kind hospitality!

Location is extremely convenient if you use the east exit of himeji station. The room is spacious and the bed was very big. The pyjamas are also very nice, especially compared to those of other hotels we used on this trip. The staff were extremely accommodating with helping us extend our checkout time at short notice. Thank you so much.
