We travel for 6months of the year and Ratan Vilas has everything you could wish for. Excellent and friendly staff, beautifully appointed bedroom, dressing room and the best bathroom with quality fittings. It is set back from the road so is wonderfully quiet although not far from everything. Thank you BrijRaj and your team for a memorable stay.

A truly beautiful heritage property in Jodhpur. The ambience, traditional architecture and peaceful gardens make the stay very special. The rooms were spacious and beautifully maintained, and the staff were warm, courteous and attentive. A wonderful blend of heritage charm and modern comfort. Highly recommended!

Pure class! Everything about this Hotel from the friendly check-in, to the quality of towels, reflects top quality. It really is a beautiful property. My room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. I loved the artwork, bedsheets, lamps, and everything else in the room. The staff are also very well trained and provided excellent service. The pool is lovely. Upon checkout, the owner herself thanked us for staying and said good bye - that was the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this Hotel and would love to stay here again. My only suggestion is to improve the Hotel Restaurant. I had dinner there and enjoyed the food, but felt that it was catered to a very western taste. It wasn’t authentic Rajasthani food, and both the laal maas and gulab jamun were disappointing.

Posting quite a late review!!!! (Travelled in 2023) “Unbelievable Experience ” I mean where do I start. The place is exceptional and just awesome. Tranquility, serenity and still some great stuff is what I would say. Location is perfect. Food super tasty but the highlight is the property and its staff. A very well maintained place and very nice place if you want to just be with your family and friends or even yourself. Dinner setup is under moonlight night and live folk music. Rooms are heritage and very very well maintained. Jodhpur Polo ground is super close as well as Mehrangarh Fort which is roughly 2-4kms away. I loved every bit of the stay. Unfortunately couldnt stay any more but we do plan on coming back!!!

Staying at the heritage hotel Ratan Vilas was a privilege, like staying with family friends from a past time. |The layout of the hotel is totally intact, with large, traditionally-furnished rooms opening onto the charming women's quarter courtyards, while delicious meals are served out on a terrace by a charming garden set in the hotel's impressive period architecture. Breakfast was delicious, with a variety of western and Indian dishes, but what made it so special was the impeccable service, ready to whip up an preference at a moment's notice. The same goes for the reception staff, especially helpful and super-efficient Yukti! However what made our stay extra special was the welcome given by the great-grandson of Maharaj Ratan Singhji, Brijraj Singh, his wife Namrata Singh, and their daughter Darshyamini. The guests' lounge is the family sitting-room, full of family photos and silver, and getting to know the family history through our charming hosts was what made it most special! There might be grander and more luxurious hotels in Jodphur, but you surely won't find one more charming and authentic.

Ratan Villas is a beautiful heritage home with real character and charm. The property has a lovely outdoor area, which makes it a very peaceful and atmospheric place to stay. The rooms are large and spacious, with good bedding that makes for a comfortable night’s sleep. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a real highlight — sitting outside in such a lovely setting, with excellent food and attentive service. To make the evening even more special, there was a musician playing, which added to the ambience and made it a very memorable experience. Location is outside the Old Town and need transport to go sightseeing. But a Tuk Tuk is under 100INR A wonderful place to stay and dine — highly recommended.

PERFECTION! Ratan Vilas is absolutely the most divine and magical place I think I have ever stayed anywhere in the world and I've traveled a lot! Where to begin? From the moment you enter the property, you feel like you are stepping back in time and are treated like royalty. Considering this was the Maharaja's home, and now being run by the 4th generation of the Maharaja you feel like they are treating you as if you are a part of the royal family. The immaculate grounds are so stunning...from the structure itself, to the restored antiques, to the beautifully upholstered chairs, to the sweet benches, to the gorgeous flower arrangements and finally to the serene pool. The entire hotel and grounds are classy and charming, elegant and luxurious as well as what I think is most impressive about Ratan, is they are pulling all of this off while still being understated and unpretentious. Incredible! It really feels like you are stepping back in time to a regal and royal time. My daughter and I loved it so much we spent an entire day just at the property. We didn't want to leave! Our beautiful room was large and stylishly decorated and could not have been cleaner. I loved the indigo block printed window treatments, the blue upholstered chairs in the sitting area, the throw pillows on the bed and the bed runners (we had twin beds). Everything was so divinely decorated. The room is stocked with everything you could possibly need. You can tell they are attentive to every single detail in the rooms and on the property. Also worth mentioning since this is India, our room was super quiet! What makes this place extra extra special is the entire staff were all so kind, attentive and helpful. They are hospitable with a capital H! From the warm welcome, to breakfast, to anywhere on the property, we were always greeted with a warm smile. I didn’t catch all their names but did speak with Harish who also wanted to ensure we had a perfect stay (WE DID!). We met the owners (husband and wife) and they were both so gracious. It feels like they are welcoming you into their home which in essence they are because they live on the property. I will be coming back if for no other reason than to stay at Ratan Vilas. Really my favorite hotel in the world. Thank you to the wonderful staff and owners for creating such a magical place and granting us such a memorable experience. Your place will forever be in our hearts. 🙏🏼

Few places live up to expectations but Ratan Vilas is the exception. This is a truly exceptional hotel in all respects. The food is excellent but the staff and superb and very kind. Even Otto the hous tortoise went the extra mile to entertain us
