Best hosts ever, Ash & Floyd were terrific, nothing was too much trouble. Even invited us out to b/fast on our last morning. We were sad to leave. Great chalet set in oh so quiet setting, directly across from the beach. Huge kitchen fully equipped but close to a great choice of cafes and restaurants. Electric blankets on the most comfy king bed, washing machine and a cosy electric log fire. That was a winner. A visit to seal Cove and Fyffe house were scenic and very interesting.

We stayed at Bay Cottages for two nights and it is quiet spacious and comfortable. It has a washing machine that was very handy, we continue our travels with clean clothes again. Bay Cottages is a bit out of town (this explains why it is so quiet) and right over the road from the beach. The owners are a young couple who have expert knowledge of the area and gave us some excellent recommendations of places to visit. I highly recommend staying at Bay Cottages.

Cosy cottage near the sea with an electric fire that really warmed the place up on arrival. Huge comfy bed with lodge-sized pillows. Generous supply of towels and face cloths. We liked that you could watch TV from the sofa and swivel it around to watch from the bed. Good bench space and quality wine glasses. |Ash and Floyd are great people. When we found that our car battery was flat just before our early morning whale watching cruise, we couldn’t get a taxi or uber and had to wake them up. Floyd was very gracious about giving us a jump start and we made it! They are really working on improving the place with fresh paint and new gardens.

Located right on the seafront with hike and biking trails. Boat ramp close by. 5 cottages, very clean and well supplied. Township 5mins away (by car). Free wi.fi. Extra towels were very welcome and the bath robes were a lovely finish. Very quiet location but the view of sea and mountain ranges were outstanding. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful and well-appointed cottage across from beach. It has a washer, a drying rack, and everything you need for a great stay. It was comfortable and clean.

Great accommodation. Quiet (no kids allowed), very clean, spacious. Great hosts, and lovely cats 😁 we were in Kaikoura partially for work, partially for R&R, and could not have picked a better place. Gus and Marisa were very accommodating and helpful.

All communication was friendly and helpful.|We were going to be arriving late, so we rang to let them know. We received a cheerful response saying this would be fine.|The unit was very clean and warm. It was fully set up with all utensils and appliances. |Although it wasn't required it was good to see the unit including the bathroom facilities were accessible to disabled people. If we return to the area we would certainly return here and also recommend Bay Cottages. |

The location was great as a base for the whale watching trip that we wanted to take - and the view of the mountains and sea from the road outside was beautiful. The town itself is a ten minutes drive into the next bay. |Reception upon arrival was something of-a transactional process including an explanation of ‘the rules’ and when checking out, a friendly good morning by me to the man who was helping to service the apartments, was acknowledged by no more than a cursory nod - not quite the friendly approach we’d encountered everywhere else on our long trip around the country. |Anyway, the room was perfectly fine, it was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable enough stay and to do our laundry. The room was described as having Netflix and free internet, which I guess it did, but the internet was only strong enough for consistent access in certain parts of the room.
