Stayed for two nights in August on vacation - I had high hopes, as this was my first Dormy Inn experience and I'd heard so much about them, but it was one of the most disappointing hotels of my trip, and one of the more expensive ones as well. Immediately upon entering the room, there was a weird musty smell, and the room decor was fairly dated - not a great first impression. The air conditioning in the public areas and corridors was broken for my entire stay, so the hallways were stiflingly hot (thankfully the air conditioning in my room worked fine.) The onsen and free ramen and ice cream bars were a nice touch and very appreciated, but the property is in need of an update.

Stayed 4 nights here. For the price and location, this is absolutely wonderful. Staff are really great, the onsen was spacious enough for the sheer number of people in the hotel, and the free ramen, albeit terrible, were nice touches. -1 star because the pillow I got was literally half-yellow stained over years of neglect? Obviously the pillow quality was dogshit but hey, it’s $90 a night and I slept like a log anyway. Dormy Inn is my favourite budget chain hotel, beating APA, Hotel Abest, Toyoko Inn.

The room is quite large for the size in Japan. Complete facilities with onsen and free ice cream. Also get udon every night. The location is also good, very close to Kanazawa station.

Great reasonably priced hotel. Small rooms but immaculate. Spa is beautiful with indoor and outdoor areas, sauna and cold plunge pool. There are free washing machines and dryers are 100 yen ($1Aud) per 20 minutes. Free ice creams nearby. Yes free! |In the evening from 6.30 there is free drinks -beer, wine, nibbles and from 9.30 free ramen noodles. |Breakfast buffet delicious and varied. |Located right next to station so really convenient.

This is a hard review for me. Because the staff is so nice and rhetorical Onsen is very decent and what I expected for a hotel at this price point. From a person that spends 200+ days a year in hotels I want to be realistic about my review. The location is great. The service is great. I knew the room was going to be small, but the linens and the bedding and the pillows were absolutely low budget garbage that needed to be thrown away. The pillows were so bad that I’m not even sure they were really pillows and I’m not trying to be difficult to be difficult. You will be disappointed as well. Myself and my girlfriend both had massages at the spa. And this is meant to be informational not critical do not expect to get a western style Massage here. Do not expect to get a tie style massage. Do not expect to get a Chinese style massage. If those are what you are used to this is not the experience that you are going to be happy with after paying for it. Let’s just say the experience is different for better or worse.

Loved this hotel. Very convenient for the station. A lot of buses go from the station to different parts of the city. The breakfast was exceptional. Great range of Japanese food, prepared well. The room was a little small but it had all the amenities we needed and the shower was excellent.

We booked 3 rooms for 3 nights and had to miss out on the first night stay. We were on the frightful U0804 on 4 April 2026 which could not land at Komatsu Airport as scheduled at 14:35 due to adverse weather conditions. Our plane landed at Nagoya instead and it was 18:15 when we got out of Nagoya Airport. Hotel staff helped us to cancel our omakase booking on our request and gave us a free upgrade for our rooms when we reached the hotel the next day. Thank you. We have stayed at Dormy Inn many times before and this hotel always maintained it's great service, with sparkling clean rooms, free ramen at night, delicious breakfast buffet with fresh sashimi, varied local produce and busy staff who swiftly refilled the dishes and kept the breakfast area clean. Onsen was quite small and extremely crowded at night, free ice popsicles were available at night and free bottled yakult drinks in the morning. Washing machines and dryers were available on the 14F onsen floor. Charged parking was also available. The hotel was conveniently located, it was less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel to the Kanazawa train station and bus terminus. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Visited the hotel for two days after Christmas. Asked reception manager Phyu to help book a famous local restaurant. She was very patient and made sure our booking went through, with specific menu options selected. We visited the restaurant and had our table without any issues. Very impressed with Phyu, she should get a medal!
