It's a nice hotel with average rooms. The japanese personal, as always was super nice and helpful. The location is a 15 min walk from the Kanawa station but right next to the Omicho food market which is definitely worth a visit. Many nice little restaurant are in the area, with many different options to chose, from kare katsu to hand made sushi ever finds something. The hotel itself is slightly above average with a Gym and a natural hot spring.

This was our second stay at the hotel. Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing for several reasons. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. It is HOT outside and the room was very warm, and after reporting that the AC was not working properly, a staff member returned only a couple of minutes later to say that it had been checked and was functioning correctly. Given how quickly they returned, I am left wondering whether it was actually inspected. I travel with a CO monitor that also displays room temperature, and it showed the room was significantly warmer than the temperature indicated by the AC unit. To their credit, staff offered to move us to another room, but by the time we returned late that evening, the AC had mysteriously started working. The shower room was also disappointing. It had a strong locker-room odor and showed significant signs of mold, which was surprising given the generally high standards of cleanliness expected of Japanese hotels. The second night was even more concerning. Around 1:00 AM, a woman was screaming loudly for approximately twenty minutes. It was serious enough that we were worried someone might be in danger, and we called the front desk immediately to report it. The situation was genuinely unsettling. I was concerned for her safety and hope she’s okay. I have never heard anyone scream like that before and hope I never do again. The male night manager was kind and professional and arranged a room change for us around 2:00 AM. However, the replacement room also was very hot. After the stress of the situation and the late-night room move, it resulted in yet another night of very poor sleep. The parking lot is a scam. Guests should be aware that there are significantly cheaper parking options nearby. Choose any other one. Finally, when checking out, the self-service machine was not functioning properly. Despite several staff members being present, no one looked up to offer assistance, ask about our stay, check on us after the disturbance the night before, or even thank us for staying at the hotel. This was a big disappointment on our last stay as well. What happened to hospitality? As returning guests, this experience fell far below the standard we had expected again. While I appreciate the professionalism of the night manager, the combination of the air conditioning issues, mold and odor in the bathroom, the overnight disturbance, and the lack of customer service at checkout means we are unlikely to return.

Excellently located hotel, close to the main station, bus stops, restaurants, convenience stores, and Omicho Market, all along a central road that runs through the city. The property feels new and well-maintained, with a smart, efficient design in both the public areas and rooms that makes great use of compact space. More importantly, it has a welcoming and lively vibe. The breakfast was hearty and very enjoyable, with plenty of options even for vegetarians. We liked our stay enough to extend it by an extra day. Staff was super nice and helpful on all 3 days Overall, it offers great value for money, and we would definitely recommend it to others or happily stay again.

Good location on easy route from train station, walkable. Windows open which is a nice place. Good onsen, and breakfast buffet worth paying the extra on room fee (say $15). If you park, buy a 24 hr coupon at the desk at the point when you are leaving.

Highly recommend The Square Hotel Kanazawa for its excellent location and modern amenities. It’s perfectly situated for sightseeing on foot, with major attractions like Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen nearby. We stayed 2 nights for a family of four. Our room was spotless and roomy. With plenty of convenience stores and dining options right outside the door, it’s the ultimate base for exploring the city I actually filmed a short video walkthrough of the hotel and breakfast buffet. If you want a 'real look' before booking, just search "simply sunrise Square hotel Kanazawa" on Youtube.

A good location where is close enough to both Kanazawa station and central restaurant district. A room we stayed in was spacious. The breakfast service was alright but it’s pretty much the same thing everyday. When you park your car right behind the building, you need to make sure to claim that at the till otherwise you pay the full price.

Excellent hotel in KANAZAWA, most tourist spots are within 15 mins walk. Good and easy parking arrangement. Good and spacious room. Fantastic value. The only silly ting is waiting till 15:00 until the rooms are available to occupy, even if we arrived at 14:45. This is stupid, but most probably part of the general servility... 10 out of 10, will definitely stay again if I'm back in this beautiful town. Highly recommended!!

Poor service at the 1st floor coffee bar in the guest service hour. We walk in and request for coffee, the lady just point at the bottle without saying anything. When we ask for water, she say no with a very bad manner. Because of environmental friendly, we use china cup to get the coffee and she ran in and said no no no only paper cups (but the problem is there’s no instructions and cups all put together), again, very bad manners. She made the good intentions of complementary coffee for guests like something we are bagging for. Really a bad experience. I have to say by visiting so many times in Japan, this is the worst service I’ve ever experienced.
