My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and this was simply the best hotel we could have booked in La Fortuna! We are recommending this to everyone we know who is going to - the staff is so helpful and friendly, the food and drinks delicious and fresh, the accommodations clean, private, quiet, and beautiful, and the views stunning! We walked their trail and were able to see some frogs and birds. We also booked a massage, volcano mud bath, and facial at their spa and enjoyed so much - truly a relaxing experience! They have a golf cart to help you get across the campus, especially in case of rain. Every need of ours was accommodated for and thought for well in advance. And did we mention the food? Truly incredible, full of fresh fruits and delicious local and international food. The drinks were wonderful and the pool was just the best! We loved our bungalow and how we both felt part of the rainforest environment but also in a luxurious setting. For the price we paid, we got an incredible value of a stay for it! We are certainly coming here again if we ever make it back to La Fortuna!

This is a stunning property at the base of the volcano. The staff was wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are individual cabins amid the forest with stunning flora. The breakfast buffet was vast and delicious, and the staff went out of their way to provide gluten free pancakes and bread. The warm pools and jacuzzi overlooking the property where we saw monkeys in the distance was an added bonus!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was great. We loved the location, the beds were comfy, and tubs on the patio were fun in the evening with sunsets. We also had a room with a view of the volcano which was very cool. The breakfast is worth paying for since it’s an amazing spread with lots of fresh foods, eggs, coffee, pastries, and juices. And dined one night for dinner which was equally delicious. Highly recommend this hotel!

We’ve been to Lomos del Volcan 3 times over the years. Friendly helpful people, comfortable lodges, beautiful gardens with birds (including toucan), agouti and squirrels. Each time it’s improved but still retains its original charm. We prefer to eat at the bar because it’s open but if it rains you won’t get wet. The pool area is lovely, breakfast is fab (I love to get an omelette made how I like it) and the view of the volcano never gets old. Not close enough to town to walk but you can get a taxi and the staff can help you with excursions and activities. Book it!!!

We were blown away by the cabin in the woods feel at the base of a the Arenal volcano next to the incredible town of La Fortuna!! The rooms were very clean and floor to ceiling wood gave us a very unique experience we will remember forever. Will never forget the front and back decks on your private cabin with very well lit pathways to take you back to the pools and restaurants. Food was good but don’t miss out on going into town to enjoy many of the local restaurants that are available. Make sure to walk this beautiful property and enjoy the wildlife around every corner. The insane amount of variety of birds was a pleasant surprise. Two pools with one heated make a fun experience going back and forth depending on cloud cover or sun. Sit back in the pool and enjoy the views at the base of the volcano!!

To me, the highlight of this resort is its amazing naturally heated hot spring pool! The hot and cold pool are both kept very clean. The rooms and housekeep service were excellent. The food was good. The groundskeepers do a fantastic job, the flora was beautiful. We had a great view of the volcano and were able to spot monkeys and a toucan from where we were staying!

This hotel was an incredible experience and so beautiful! It immersed you in the rainforest experience with the lush plant life birds frogs and animals. The restaurant served a great breakfast buffet and had fine dining for dinner. The service from the staff was welcoming and outgoing. The golf cart that takes you to the bungalows was great as there were many hills as well as the drivers. The standard bungalow was adorable with a great bathroom and the two porches to sit in. I was there with 5 of my besties celebrating my 60th and we all loved it. I had a pura vida spa package and it was the best experience with a room that opens up to the rainforest. The hotel was close to everything but not walkable. I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a hidden gem.

What an amazing place! We stayed here four nights and everything about this hotel was fantastic. The rooms were clean, had everything you needed, gorgeous scenery around the whole resort and the staff was especially great. We loved talking with Alex — he was super helpful and kind! Definitely take advantage of the breakfast, it was so good and filled us up for our daily adventures. We’ll be re-creating some of these dishes at home! Thank you so much for taking care of us and making our stay so memorable!
