I would rate this a 3 star hotel. Clean rooms food was good and the complimentary breakfast was pretty standard. Better than Mexico but not close to 5 stars. For the most part staff were helpful and friendly. Until….. We went out for the day to come back at around 930pm to discover our Air Con had frozen up, went into safe mode and leaked all over the floor. The front desk said they would send someone right away. 20 minutes later no one showed so I called again. One manager (I think) and maintenance person showed up. The manager kept trying to talk over me to tell me how the thermostat worked, like I was a child. I told him that is great everything you are saying I completely understand however you are not listening to me. Explain all this water on the floor and you can hear the thermostat command the fan but no fan. 5 minutes after they left it started working. His comment was “it’s like magic”. I laughed it off and went about my evening. I will say someone else said something about the key card not working on day two, we had same issue. Over all good place but if I come back to Costa Rica, there was nothing here that would want me to book a stay here again.

Great hot spring, great view outside as well. The hotel is well set up with great services.

I cannot say enough good things about our time here. Is there a word greater than "perfect"? I don't know that I've ever been to such a place where EVERY employee went above and beyond. Each staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful and really made the whole experience worth every penny we spent. Special shout out to Jose, Josette, Evelyn, Andres, Johan, the ladies in the spa, the housekeepers, Joel, and David (i think that was his name. A young gentleman who was with concierge and helped our luggage to our room), and one wonderful lady (her name started with a "Y", I'm sorry I can't remember exactly!) The ambiance created there really made us be present and appreciate our surroundings. The sounds of the rain, the view of the volcano, the rainforest and thermal waters brought a sense of peace and complete relaxation. I would highly recommend this property and we will be booking another stay if we get to visit La Fortuna again in the future.

Our stay at The Royal Corin was absolutely wonderful! The property is stunning—beautifully maintained, surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, and with incredible views that make it feel like a true paradise. Every part of the resort was clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed. What really made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person we encountered was genuinely warm, friendly, and eager to help. Their hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and they went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. If you're visiting La Fortuna, we highly recommend The Royal Corin. Between the beautiful property, relaxing atmosphere, and outstanding customer service, it's the perfect place to stay. We would absolutely return!

Very disappointing stay. This hotel charges five star prices but delivers a three star experience at best. The property is old and poorly maintained, and the staff were consistently rude and dismissive whenever we needed help. Our room key stopped working two days in a row, and the front desk acted as if it was no big deal. At checkout, another guest had the exact same issue, and the staff simply laughed it off. The breakfast buffet was terrible. The cold cuts appeared spoiled, there were bugs around the food, and the overall smell was unpleasant. At the pool, there were never any towels available. We waited 45 minutes for clean ones. We also tried to move a lounge chair, and it literally fell apart because the wheels were no longer properly attached. To top it all off, we were charged for a minibar soft drink that we never took. By that point, I was so fed up that I didn’t even argue. I just wanted to leave. I’m a very laid back traveler, and this is the first negative hotel review I’ve ever written. I normally overlook small inconveniences, but for the price this hotel charges, the experience was unacceptable. I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel maintains such high ratings. My partner and I stayed at another five star hotel in the Papagayo region just before coming here for about the same price, and the difference was night and day. The service there was exceptional, the staff were attentive, and everything was well maintained. Maybe our previous hotel set the bar very high, but Royal Corin fell far below what we experienced elsewhere at the same price point. I would not recommend Royal Corin to anyone expecting a true five star luxury hotel.

My husband and I loved our stay! The staff are all very friendly and attentive. One of them offered us ponchos for our day tour. The breakfast is very good, fresh and has a lot of variety! We enjoyed the hot springs, very beautiful and great way to relax after a long day exploring/hiking. Everything was clean. My only suggestion would be to update the TVs that seem from 1950s.. very very outdated for the price you’re paying for your stay.

An absolutely incredible stay, beyond all our expectations. Every single detail was perfect, from the amazing interior design, exceptional service and the fresh, delicious breakfast, to the beautiful rooms, luxurious showers, and a stunning balcony. Great volcano view, and the gorgeous pools. The entire staff was kind, generous, and always ready to help. It was truly hard to leave this little paradise and go back to reality. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Highly, highly recommended!

Stayed here for three nights, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The positives: The hotel is located a bit outside of La Fortuna town—far enough to feel quiet, yet still close enough to easily catch a taxi. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and every room offers a stunning view of the volcano, which is definitely the standout feature. There are also seven thermal pools that guests can enjoy until late in the evening. That said, the hotel is situated right next to a road, so some rooms pick up noticeable traffic noise from the balcony, which can take away from the overall experience. The negatives: The food was underwhelming, even at the restaurant on the fifth floor. Breakfast was particularly disappointing—the buffet had very limited options, and I think an à la carte menu would have been a better choice. While some staff members were polite, helpful, and friendly, others came across as somewhat standoffish and disengaged. Overall, I didn’t feel that the stay justified the high nightly price.
