We stayed at this hotel during an Italy roadtrip.|This hotel is a good option for travelers with a car, as it's offers free parking on-site. Located just 10–15 minutes by car from both Pisa and Lucca, it's a convenient base for exploring the area. The building has a vintage charm but is well maintained. Note that the room doors still use an old-fashioned key system. Rooms are spacious, with decent beds and generally clean, though some dust was noticeable in hidden corners. The bathroom was spotless. Breakfast was simple, with a few items lacking freshness, but staff replenished supplies promptly when asked for more quantity. The team was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One thing to keep in mind: check-in is only available until 8–9 PM. As we arrived later, the hotel sended us a detailed message and followed up with a call to guide us through a self-service check-in using a outside door unlocking code to access and retrieve your key. Overall, a pleasant stay, though the price felt slightly high for what was offered.

Very nice stay. We spent only one night, arriving late at Pisa airport. The hotel is far from the city (15min by car). Rooms are big, perfectly clean. Parking is available. Close to the hotel there is a very nice restaurant (where is served the breakfast) where we could eat at 22pm. Definitely a great stay. Totally recommended!

Personal and incredible service. The rooms were very well appointed, the breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had and the staff were extremely accommodating. My partner and I were traveling via bus across Tuscany and we had a minor snafu with scheduling (we didn’t realize that the buses didn’t run on sundays until the afternoon) and the staff graciously permitted us to wait in their lobby. My only complaint, and this has nothing to do with the hotel or its services, is the location overall. The town which the hotel resides in is not particularly traversable by foot. If I were to return I would do so with a rented car. Overall a wonderful hotel.

Loved staying here! Beautiful Tuscan style rooms with balcony, clean and the people are so lovely! Wish we had more time, but only passing through, can’t recommend enough. The people are kind, the coffee is great and breakfast is scrumptious.

We stayed at hotel ristorante da Carlos as a base for a wedding in Pisa before going on to Viareggio for a few days. The hotel itself was very welcoming and the room was everything you need from a hotel. Spacious bedroom. Comfortable bed. Great bathroom. Everything was very clean no issues with the room. Breakfast was included and very tasty and plentiful. The attached restaurant provided very nice meals with a local pizzeria in the village also available when the restaurant was closed Sunday evening. The customer service was amazing with the staff going above and beyond to ensure we made it to the wedding and onto our next destination. Thank you all for such a lovely stay in your hotel.

We had yet another wonderful stay at Hotel Da Carlos. Carlota and Eduardo are very welcoming and always greeted us with big smiles. The rooms are very clean (and COVID-friendly: hand sanitizers and gloves everywhere etc.), have AC (a blessing during the warm summer months), a large desk, and a fridge. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious, and there is plenty of closet space (and a safe). The internet is fast and the hotel has good cell service. Many parking places. The breakfast is great, lots of choices (sweet and savoury) and the coffee is amazing. The hotel is calm, charming, and well located. It is a perfect place to stay to visit Lucca, Pisa, or Tuscany in general. Thank you again for your hospitality. I recommend this hotel 1000%.
