I had a wonderful stay at Bastion Hotel Maastricht. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing everything needed for a relaxing visit. I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. The room is clean the amenities are great. Staff speaks multiply languages is very kind and attractive. Always there to help you. They provide all sorts of assistance. There is an elevator. The beds are comfortable. The shower is big and clean. The water pressure is strong. They have a restaurant so you can buy dinner and breakfast.

I've been to Bastion hotels before, and this Bastion is of the same quality as the others. It started with the check in, the gentleman who checked us in, was friendly, and really helpful,when we said that we wanted to book for a second night. The upkeep of the room was surprisingly good, the bathroom looked great. The bed was nice and soft. The nice thing is, that the hotel is near the centre of maastricht, and easy to reach from the train station.

Although the hotel is conveniently located, our room—situated on the ground floor—was literally next to a parking lot and was quite noisy. Every time a car parked directly in front of our window, it felt as though it was inside the room. Additionally, the breakfast was very disappointing and not worth the nearly €20 price. As a party of two, one of us had a fried egg while the other had a two-egg omelet. We also had a chocolate croissant and a plain croissant, both of which were very dry, along with fruit juice made from concentrate and a rather tasteless cappuccino. There was also some basic bread with the usual assortment of brie, other cheeses, and sausages. Had I known, I would have simply gone elsewhere for a decent breakfast and proper coffee. The staff, however, were helpful and accommodating. Overall, not the best experience.

The hotel smelt a bit like sewage and the rooms were very outdated and not very clean. A lot of dust everywhere. Even the hallway carpet was filthy and had stains. There was also a loud vibrating noise every 2 minutes when the aircon was on. I assumed it’d be the same as Bastion in Arnhem which has massive standard rooms and very clean and modern. But unfortunately it wasn’t.

A nice, quiet, and peaceful place. The service was very friendly. The downside is that there's no free parking. Fortunately, you can purchase underground parking near the hotel. The lighting in the room is also a minus, it's dark.
