Out of all the places I stayed in for work, I have enjoyed Hotel Cava Del Sole the most. The breakfast is high-quality, fresh and plentiful, the staff and owners are helpful and friendly, the rooms are quiet, spacious and modern, the showers and amenities are fantastic, the cleaners are very thorough, the beds are comfy and the surrounding garden is beautiful. The one downside is that it's not that close to the main city (although not too far either), so you will need to use a car. Given a choice, I would come back here any time, and if they had a pool and spa on site I would come here for my holidays as well!

This hotel is really quite spectacular. Amazing staff; beautiful room; every comfort. The only thing I had an issue with was the location (a little way out of the town and close the main roads) - but I am still giving it 5 out of 5. We couldn't have been made more welcome, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and comfortable with a fantastic bathroom. |Breakfast was an Italian buffet with an excellent range of food. |I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay, the hotel fulfilled our expectations. We reserved a room for persons with disabilities. It was well appointed, spacious and suitable to our needs. Breakfast was very good, the staff, both in the restaurant and front desk were very kind and helpful. While the location is away from the centro, we were able to arrange a tour. Parking was easy with quick access to and out of the city. Grazie mille Inocenzo, Maria e Pietro!

This is a must be place when visiting Matera. The rooms were super clean and the staff were amazing. On the night of my arrival at the property, the receptionist took his time to show me places I could visit and where to eat as a local👍👍👍👍

Superb room and comfort, excellent breakfast and very helpful staff at every instance. It is a very smart hotel to stay in but a little out of the centre of things, so a car was essential to reach the old historic district of Sassi, but parking at hotel was free.

Hotel Cave del Sole was a nice hotel that was exactly what we needed for two nights exploring Matera. There’s parking for around 10 cars in a courtyard in front of the hotel (plus an underground garage which looked tight to park in). This opens on to a fairly busy road - take care exiting. You really do need a car as it’s 10 mins drive to Matera. We went to a local restaurant recommended by the hotel: 5 mins drive and fine (not pretty but nice pizza). Our room was for three: a bedroom and a sofa bed in what would normally be the sitting room - all comfortable. It was quite functional but nice - all white and clean. There was a kettle and reception kindly provided milk. Breakfast was fine and staff were helpful and friendly. Matera btw is definitely worth including on your Puglia visit - we spent a full day there and we’re able to see most of it. A great, functional hotel (not a ‘wow’ but very nice) that ticked all the boxes.

The establishment was clean and breakfast adequate. The room was soulless, clean but|No character. Entrance and exit to hotel very precarious, be aware .location to matera not great as too far to walk, which was disappointing especially when visiting restaurants. Would need to taxi both ways .

My second time in this hotel and never disappointed. Very polite and helpful staff, clean modern rooms and excellent breakfast. I would like to thank all the staff especially Pietro the receptionist who is always there to help.
