Located outside the historic area. Room was spacious with room to layout 2 suitcases. There is a safe. Nice sized desk that has a light. Bathroom has a lighted shaving mirror but the light didn’t work and the mirror was so loose it wouldn’t stay in the position I needed. The supplied blow dryer is feeble and you have to hold the on button all the time. Combo shower/tub was slippery and the shower head was difficult to use without spraying the toilet next to the tub and the floor. |The nightstands on each side of the bed had a built in USB port but they only work when the bedside lights are on; no overnight charging while you sleep unless you loosen the bulb. The room had a refrigerator/mini bar. |Breakfast was very good- a very large selection of meats cheeses breads cakes cereal etc. multiple coffee options. |Overall a good option for this area

No air conditioning in rooms told off season , open windows. But loud lobby and walkway were right outside window. The strange thing the lobby and restaurant are air conditioned? The card key stopped working and had to get front desk to open door well this was a huge inconvenience for him to walk around hall to open door but he forgot we needed key for electricity so had to go back to same guy and him huffing and puffing about doing what he should of done in first place . The front desk staff were very rude. Bad communication skills. The rooms themselves are clean but beds and pillows are so uncomfortable. Spa too expensive, but was going to try and was booked closed for the next two days. Every one at front desk rude! (3) Granted language was a barrier but basic kindness is universal. The good was the hotel restaurant and the staff there. The huge olive tree in front is also nice.

Obviously for business. Grim reception with no smile. Like an admin in USSR. worn-out rooms with things not working. Far from Matera, needing the car to bet there.

We booked a double room for 120euros. It is an old hotel but it is perfectly renovated (refurbished). The rooms were perfectly clean. Breakfast was not huge, bud definetely with more options than other hotels in Italy, and with good quality. Their pool was very clean. Defintely recomend it.

The room was clean but the heat was controlled at one master switch. When we arrived the room was freezing and we were told it won't turn on until 6:15. What a crazy thing! The garden and ground of the hotel were beautiful but definitely not in walking distance to much of anything. If you are interested in visiting the old town, I would stay near there and not this hotel. The staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was served lazy Susan style. The eggs and bacon were cold. There a nice selection of pastries. They didn't have a normal breakfast setup that would keep the food warm. I wouldn't stay here again.

Hotel del Campo was a good choice for us when visiting Matera. It is located a bit outside of the main old town, so you will need a car or transport to get into there. Luckily we had a hire car and found plenty of parking just outside of the centre of Matera, walking distance to the old town. The hotel itself was nice, quiet and the room was very spacious. The breakfast was good with a nice variety on offer. The big plus was the outdoor pool! It was so nice to jump in and cool off after a hot day sight seeing!
