We had such a great stay here for our first trip to Mexico City. The location was perfect, our room had an incredible view over Chapultepec, and Club InterContinental access was 100% worth it. Breakfast was great, the evening snacks were surprisingly substantial, and we loved having the lounge as a place to come back and relax after being out exploring all day. The biggest shout-out has to go to Leonel on the concierge team. He was fantastic from before we even arrived. He helped us arrange airport transportation, restaurant reservations, private tours, Lucha Libre tickets and transportation, and patiently answered all of my questions along the way. Everything he arranged went perfectly and made our first visit to such an enormous city feel incredibly easy. We also loved having Hector as our driver and guide throughout the week. Having the same person taking care of us for several different outings was such a nice touch, and our tours of the city and Teotihuacán were highlights of the trip. Overall, the hotel was comfortable, luxurious without feeling stuffy, and the service was excellent. By the end of six nights, it genuinely felt like coming home when we walked back through the doors. We absolutely loved Mexico City, and when we come back, we’ll stay here again.

Well-located hotel for stays on the Polanco side of the city, but the regular rooms are undistinguished for this price range. And the ones located next to the elevator shafts are unacceptably VERY noisy. The staff were all very nice, but the place needs re-work to fit the luxury branding. Noise: |At first I thought there was a low-flying aircraft on approach to MEX, but after counting several "aircraft" spaced far too close together, I figured out the continuous noise in my room was the hotel elevators constantly coming and going. I should have paid attention to the reviews that mentioned noise, but I thought they were being sensitive... Earplugs help, if you brought some, but the sound is deep-pitched so you can "feel" it anyway. The noise never stopped for long (it's a big hotel, and maybe the elevators bottom out when not in use), during my 2-night stay. You could hear it during the day but it was especially noticeable at night. I was hoping for some restful sleep between busy days, but it was not happening. There's a *LOT* of rooms adjacent the elevator shafts in a 42-story hotel. All of these will be similarly unsleepable. They even have the heads of the beds pressed to the wall where the elevator shaft is. Sigh. These rooms should be designated as housekeeping storage, or sound-baffled and the beds reversed away from the elevators, or sold only as day-use. |Surely these ideas have occurred to management. Putting multi-night visitors in these rooms is an insult to guests at this level of hospitality. Location: Polanco is the most upscale part of CDMX, and it's easy walking access to the museums, upscale restaurants, and points north from here. But note many of the historical sites and instagram-famous restaurants are to the east and south of Chapultepec. First-time visitors should stay in Reforma instead. Rooms: Surprisingly plain, with an open-plan bathroom (sink/counter are in the "bedroom"). It's a great space-saver common in budget hotels, but not what you expect at this pricing. It should be made stylish or eclectic, and the bathroom area should be closed off. There *is* a very nice lobby and a 24-hour French restaurant, plus lobby restaurant-bar, so save this one for a day visit, not a stay. There's tons of other great hotel options in CDMX, and for most visitors locations towards Reforma are better located.

Very prestigious hotel in Polanco. Amazing views. Great option for breakfast. Omelettes were great. Great location. Toiletries were exquisite with a regional selection of perfumes where fresh eucalyptus notes emerge. The bed is a cloud.

I had an excellent stay at the hotel, the experience truly exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was impeccable, comfortable, elegant, and exactly what one expects from a hotel of this standard. I was also very impressed by the service throughout the stay, especially from the front desk team and the restaurant staff during breakfast, who were attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. What made the experience even more memorable was the integrity and care shown by the team after I accidentally left behind a gold necklace, with both personal and material value. The item was found, safely kept, and the recovery process was handled with transparency and professionalism. This kind of service builds real trust. My sincere appreciation to everyone involved, both for the wonderful stay and for the honesty and attention shown afterward. I am genuinely happy and looking forward to returning soon.

We frequent Intercontinentals when traveling and this is by far the worst intercontinental we have stayed at. My husband is a Diamond Elite member for IHG so we have stayed at various locations. They normally have great service, amenities, and generally are treated so well. However, the General Manager, Karen, does not manage this hotel well. For the amount of money you’re paying for your stay at a 5 star hotel, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a better experience with a welcoming General Manager, unlike Karen. The location is great, but there are other hotels that you can stay at in Polanco. Hyatt is right next door and you can have the same access to restaurants, coffee shops, Masaryk street, etc.

Lovely place. Super clean and staff were nice. Only bad thing was at the Chapulin restaurant inside the hotel. We had brunch and the food or at least my plate was salty, I mentioned it to the server and they didn’t offer any replacement or compensation form. For their prices I would expect a better deal.

The overall experience at this hotel is great. What I liked the most is how seamlessly the check in and check out are. The location is perfect and well connected. Will definitely stay here again. If I must list any cons, I would say that the WiFi gets slower at nights for some reason. Everything else is great.

Overall, I liked the hotel and the stay had several strong points. The location is excellent, and the property feels new, clean, and well maintained. The room was generally comfortable, and the hotel itself is in very good condition. However, there were a few service and comfort issues that made the experience feel below the standard I would expect from an InterContinental. Housekeeping service felt inconsistent and should not depend on whether a tip is left. The welcome letter stated that bottled water was guaranteed daily, but after I forgot to leave a tip, my room was not properly replenished: there was no bottled water, one coffee cup was missing, and there were no coffee capsules. I had to call to request water, and only one bottle was delivered each time, which was frustrating. The lounge experience also felt underwhelming. I understand that peak hours can be busy, but no one greeted me, checked whether I needed anything, or offered basic service such as pouring coffee. For an InterContinental, and especially as an Ambassador guest, this felt below the expected service standard. There was also a noise issue. Around 7am, there was noise outside the room. I did not check the exact source, but it lasted for a while and was not fully blocked by the room, which affected the comfort of the stay. Additionally, as an Ambassador member, I booked the priority room type, but I was assigned a room with a cheaper Best Available Rate. I would appreciate better recognition of Ambassador benefits and more careful handling of room assignments. Overall, I would still say the hotel has a lot of potential because of its great location and property condition, but service consistency, Ambassador recognition, lounge hospitality, and noise insulation could be improved.
