AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Tucked into the Oldman River valley below Lethbridge, the Lethbridge Mountain Bike Park—officially the Silver Ridge Construction Mountain Bike Park at Botterill Bottom Park—is a purpose-built playground for riders. A network of jumps, moguls, drops and trick-stunt features sits inside a mature cottonwood forest, giving mountain bikers and BMX riders a place to learn, progress and keep practicing whatever the season. The city describes it as built for all abilities, open year-round and free to use.↗↗
What makes it more than just a pile of dirt is its setting. The park occupies the river bottom, reached by dropping into the valley through neighbouring Indian Battle Park, so a session here comes wrapped in cottonwoods, birdsong and riverside views rather than a bare field. The same green space doubles as a walking-and-paddling spot, which means you can pair a ride with a stroll, a cast line or a boat launch on the Oldman.↗↗
A Dirt Playground in the Cottonwoods
The heart of the park is its feature zone: sculpted jumps, rhythm sections of moguls and dedicated trick-stunt areas that let riders work on lines, timing and airs in one contained spot. Because the setup is maintained as a joint venture between the City of Lethbridge and the local Headwinds Cycling Club, the features are built and cared for by people who actually ride them, and the range of terrain is pitched to welcome everyone from first-timers on a small roller to confident riders linking a longer jump line. Unlike many trail networks that close or turn to mud for part of the year, this one is open all four seasons, so it has become a reliable training ground for the local riding community.
