AT A GLANCE
Why go?
The Sommet Saint-Sauveur Snow Tubing Park (Glissades sur tube) is a dedicated winter tubing hillset on the Versant Avila side of the resort, roughly 45 minutes north of Montreal in the Laurentian village of Piedmont. With 18 groomed tube lanes, 2 rafting tracks, and 5 lifts to shuttle you back to the top, it turns a ski slope into a nonstop family sledding playground — no skiing experience required.↗↗
Between runs, a rustic chalet with a massive stone fireplace and century-old timber beams serves as the basecamp, while the on-site Jack Rabbit restaurant and cafeterias let you extend the outing with a hearty meal after the cold sets in.↗↗
Racing Down the Mountain
The tubing park is laid out as a series of graded zones so everyone finds their speed. Gentle lanes near the base are perfect for toddlers and first-timers who just want to spin downhill in a round tube. Mid-level runs add a few twists and more speed for older kids and adults who've mastered the basics. For thrill-seekers, the Avalanche and Formula 1 zones deliver steep, high-speed drops that require a minimum height of 1.32 m and can be run solo or in groups of up to six per raft.
