AT A GLANCE
Why go?
White Stones is a stretch of dazzling white limestone cliffs along the Limassol coast near Monagroulli, Cyprus, where smooth chalk formations carved by wind and sea meet turquoise Mediterranean waters in a contrast that looks almost otherworldly.↗↗
A magnet for photographers, couples, and anyone craving raw coastal beauty away from organized beaches, White Stones offers a wild, unspoiled landscape you can explore at any hour of the day—complete with a seafood taverna perched right on the shore and free parking just a short walk from the formations.↗↗
A Living Canvas of Stone and Sea
The formations at White Stones are made of soft white limestone—chalk rich in calcium carbonate—that reflects sunlight and creates a gleaming, almost marble-like surface against the deep blue water. Centuries of wind and salt spray have sculpted the rock into smooth, curved shapes resembling frozen waves, undulating in long, flowing contours along the coastline. Locally the site is called Άσπρες πέτρες or Asproi Vraxoi, and visitors often describe the experience of walking along its surface as stepping into a landscape that belongs to another world.
