AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Undi Beach (Pantai Undi) is a long, low, white-sand shoreline in Kampung Undi, in the Masni district west of Manokwari on Papua Barat's north coast. Roughly a 50-minute drive from town, it has become one of the area's favourite places for locals to escape for a day of fresh sea air, shade and simple seaside fun.↗↗↗
What makes it appealing is how unspoiled and easygoing it feels: a sweeping ribbon of pale sand, a fringe of trees and flowering plants that visitors call photogenic, and a relaxed, community-run atmosphere. The beach is rated a well-loved 4.5 out of 5 from dozens of reviews, and the surrounding coastline is dotted with other quiet beaches worth combining into a single day trip.↗↗↗
A long white-sand beach close to Manokwari
Most people come to Undi for the sand. The beach runs for a long, unbroken stretch of soft pale grains, gently sloping and broad enough that it never feels crowded even on busy days. Plantings of trees and flowering shrubs line the back of the shore, lending colour and a leafy backdrop that regulars describe as pleasingly photogenic, while the sea in front stays low and open along an extended coastline.
