AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Shree Laturiya Hanumanji Temple is a working Hindu place of worship in the small settlement of Damnagar, in the Lathi area of Saurashtra on the Gujarat coast. Dedicated to Lord Hanuman—the devout monkey-god of the Ramayana, revered for strength, loyalty and protection—the temple is a familiar feature of daily village religious life rather than a grand heritage monument, and it carries a warm rating from local visitors.↗↗
What makes the temple worth a stop is its authenticity as a living devotional centre. Darshan here is unpretentious and peaceful: devotees come for blessings, to join bhajan (devotional singing), puja and archana, and to take home prasad. The courtyard doubles as a hub for community causes—recently hosting a large blood-donation camp where crowds of young people turned out alongside prayer and a shared mahaprasad meal.↗↗
Entry is free and the setting is calm, with parking around the temple and morning and evening being the liveliest times to visit. If you are travelling through the Lathi–Damnagar countryside, the temple makes a quiet, genuine introduction to the deep Hanuman devotion of this part of Gujarat, and it sits close to one of the region's better-known Hanuman pilgrimage sites.
