AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Tucked into Waluj, the busy industrial township on the edge of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad), the Vaishno Devi Mandir brings one of India's most distant pilgrimage experiences to the doorstep of Marathwada. Rather than a small wayside shrine, it is a deliberately reimagined take on the famous cave temple above Katra in Jammu: visitors note how the layout echoes the rock-hewn passages and sloping roofs of the original, so a darshan here feels like a condensed version of the northern yatra.↗
