AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Casa Mazzetti is an immersive museum and experiential center in Cavezzo, in the Province of Modena, dedicated entirely to the world of Aceto Balsamico di Modena. Housed in the beautifully renovated historic wing of Acetum—one of Italy's most important balsamic vinegar producers—it brings together centuries of tradition, sensory tastings, and theatrical storytelling under one roof. Visitors are guided through the secrets behind two of Modena's most prized condiments, the PDO Traditional Balsamic Vinegar and the PGI Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, culminating in tastings of these dark, complex liquids often called Modena's "black gold."↗↗↗
Opened in late 2018, the museum is widely considered the most beautiful and cutting-edge destination dedicated to balsamic vinegar in the region. It features the Teatro dell'Aceto (Vinegar Theatre), a multi-purpose space that hosts cultural events, and Hercules, reportedly the world's largest balsamic vinegar barrel. The experience has earned an outstanding 4.9 rating from visitors, who praise the informative tours, the tastings, and the family-friendly atmosphere.↗
