Zheltovsky
Zheltovsky is a dramatically sculpted stratovolcano rising 1,926 metres above the remote southern reaches of Kamchatka's volcanic belt. Its truncated cone, studded with lava domes and fringed by more than ten cinder cones, tells a story of violent eruptions that reshaped the summit as recently as 1923. The volcano sits within the UNESCO World Heritage property 'Volcanoes of Kamchatka,' and although no trail leads to its crater, its raw silhouette defines the skyline above Kuril Lake and the southern sanctuary.
