Mt Molly
Mount Molly is a compact, rewarding summit in the Lakes Region town of New Durham, New Hampshire, rising to about 1,161 feet in Strafford County. It sits at the heart of the Collins Family Forest, a 500-acre woodland protected and managed by the Southeast Land Trust of New Hampshire (SELT), and it delivers the rarest treat of an easy-to-moderate hike: a sweeping, open view across the deep blue water of Merrymeeting Lake, with the rolling ridgelines of Birch Ridge and the distant Blue Hills Range beyond. This is not a rugged alpine scramble but a quiet forest walk with a payoff, ideal for families, casual hikers, or anyone wanting a short scenic outing without leaving the Lakes Region. The trails are well marked and the summit climb can be done as a loop, and on most days the woods feel blissfully uncrowded—visitors often report meeting no one else on the trail until they return to their car.
