Hestrasjön
Hestrasjön is a small, shallow lake nestled in the forested lake country of Småland, southern Sweden. At just 23 hectares and with a maximum depth of only 1.4 metres, it is one of the modest water bodies that dot the landscape around Broaryd in Gislaved Municipality. Despite its size, the lake has earned a quiet reputation among local anglers for its healthy populations of pike, perch and bream. Set at 128 metres above sea level in the Nissan river basin, Hestrasjön is fed by the surrounding woodland and wetlands and drains through the short Hestrabäcken stream toward the broader Västerån watercourse. The area is a mosaic of coniferous forest, open bog, and farmland — quintessential Småland scenery that gives the lake a peaceful, secluded character.
