Moose Lake
Moose Lake is a small, serene body of water tucked into the Maligne Valley of Jasper National Park, sitting at roughly 1,729 metres and framed by dense mountain forest. It is the quieter neighbour of the much larger, more celebrated Maligne Lake nearby, and for many visitors that low-key calm is exactly the appeal: clear water, bird calls and long stretches of solitude rather than crowds. You reach it on foot rather than by car, on a short forest loop that most people finish in under an hour. It makes a rewarding side-stop when you are already visiting Maligne Lake, and an easy introduction to Jasper's wooded trails for families and beginner hikers.
