Sri Sri Barala Balukeswar Mandir
Sri Sri Barala Balukeswar Mandir is a village Shiva temple in Shikharpur, a small settlement in the Jaleswar block of Balasore district, coastal Odisha. The deity Balukeswar — literally "Lord of Sand" — is a local form of Shiva, and the temple serves as a spiritual anchor for the farming communities scattered along the borderlands between Odisha and West Bengal. Though it draws no crowds of tourists, this newly built temple has become a quiet centre of devotion for the surrounding villages, with free entry, easy parking, and the warm communal upkeep that characterises rural Odisha's most beloved shrines.
