Kutbu Cihan Şakir Efendi Külliyesi ve Camisi
On a quiet lane in the Central Anatolian town of Gedikhasanlı, near Sorgun in Yozgat province, stands a working religious complex—the Kutbu Cihan Şakir Efendi Külliyesi and Mosque—that pairs a congregational mosque and a Quran course with the shrine of a beloved 19th-century scholar. It is a place where living worship and local devotional heritage sit side by side, and a destination for travellers interested in the quieter, faith-centred corners of Anatolia. The complex takes its name and its significance from Mehmet Şakir Efendi (1853–1937), an Ottoman-era medrese teacher and imam from this very village. Revered as a man of deep learning and spiritual authority, he is remembered through the külliye and through his tomb, which for decades has drawn visitors as a site of faith tourism (inanç turizmi). For a traveller, the appeal lies less in grand monuments than in atmosphere: a small-town sacred site still tended and used by the community that raised it.
