Bosarydssjön
Tucked in the forest of inner Småland, Bosarydssjön is the kind of lake most visitors to Sweden never find — a small, still stretch of water ringed by woodland, with a quiet little bathing spot that feels like a local secret. It isn't a grand scenic showpiece, and that's exactly its appeal: a calm day of swimming, a picnic on a wooden jetty and a walk through pine and spruce without a crowd in sight. The lake sits in Vaggeryd municipality in Jönköping County, about 1.3 kilometres south of the village of Hagafors. It's shallow and compact — roughly a 7-hectare mirror of water at 198 metres elevation, no more than 6.5 metres deep at its maximum — and its outflow, the Kinnebrobäcken brook, threads its way down toward the Lagan river valley. For anyone who wants a low-key Swedish summer day of water and woods, this is a genuinely restful corner of the country.
