Pamyatnik V.m. Klykovu
Tucked into the courtyard of an 18th-century Moscow estate on Chernigovsky Lane, the Monument to Vyacheslav Klykov honors one of Russia's most prolific monumental sculptors. Klykov — creator of iconic landmarks from the statue of Saints Cyril and Methodius on Slavyanskaya Square to the equestrian monument to Marshal Zhukov on Manezhnaya Square — served for years as president of the International Fund of Slavic Writing and Culture housed in this very building. The monument was installed by the Fund after Klykov's death in 2006, set in the courtyard of the historic manor at Chernigovsky Lane 9/13, near the small museum dedicated to singer Igor Talkov — a memorial project Klykov himself helped bring to life.
