Col de la Loze
Col de la Loze is a 2,304-metre mountain pass in the French Alps, perched between the ski resorts of Méribel and Courchevel in the heart of the Trois Vallées. Opened to cyclists in 2019 as a traffic-free paved path, it is the seventh-highest mountain pass in France and the third-highest in Savoie — a destination that rewards the effort with a jaw-dropping 360° panorama stretching from the Mont Blanc massif to the Grande Casse. What makes this col truly unique is its character: a narrow ribbon of tarmac barely four metres wide, exclusively reserved for two wheels, with gradients that spike to 23–24% in brutal ramps near the summit. It has already earned legendary status in professional cycling, serving as a summit finish in the Tour de France three times (2020, 2023, and 2025) and drawing amateur cyclists who want to ride the same savage inclines that split the peloton apart.
