Långsjön
Långsjön is a tranquil 2-square-kilometre forest lake in Skellefteå municipality, deep in the inland woodlands of Västerbotten, northern Sweden. Set at 79 metres above sea level and named for its elongated shape—"Långsjön" literally means "the long lake"—it sits about 18 kilometres from the Bothnian Sea coast, yet feels entirely remote, surrounded by boreal forest that covers nearly three-quarters of its catchment area. The lake is known for its clean water and officially rated "good" ecological and chemical status, making it a peaceful spot for quiet nature immersion rather than a built-up tourist site. It serves as a starting point for exploring the broader Byske area, which draws anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to the famous salmon river Byskeälven just a short drive to the east.
