Wat Pa Khon Phong
Wat Pa Khon Phong is a small forest monastery of the Dhammayuttika (Thammayut) order in the rural highlands of Phu Ruea District, Loei Province. The name "Wat Pa" signals its character: a forest temple set in a simple, contemplative environment, serving the village of Ban Khon Phong and surrounding communities in Tambon San Tom. Registered as a temple in late 2011 and granted its formal monastic boundary (Visungkamsima) in 2014, Wat Pa Khon Phong is a relatively young monastery in a region where the Thammayut forest tradition has deep roots across northeastern Thailand. The temple is accessible to visitors, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, and is well rated by the small number of people who have reviewed it.
