Chùa bụt mọc
Chùa Bụt Mọc (Bụt Mọc Pagoda) is a small, still-active Buddhist temple on the outskirts of Vĩnh Bảo town in the southern Hải Phòng countryside. Far from the tourist crowds of the coast, it sits in the same district as some of the city's most old-established village pagodas and carries the evocative name of a much-loved northern folk tradition. The name 'Bụt Mọc' — roughly 'sprouted Buddha' — is the reason many travellers pause here. Across the Red River Delta dozens of pagodas bear it, and a single well-documented example, the Bụt Mọc near the northern coastal towns, even grew into one of Vietnam's great temple complexes. The Vĩnh Bảo temple shares that name and the spirit of it: a humble rural shrine where locals come to light incense, pray and keep the old devotional rhythms of the Vietnamese village. What you find is an intimate look at living folk Buddhism rather than a grand monument.
