Stensjön
Stensjön is a remote wilderness lake in Strömsund municipality, Jämtland, half of which sits inside the Stensjön Nature Reserve—a 16 km² tract of old-growth boreal forest where brown bears, beavers, and golden eagles roam among pines that have stood for over 400 years. This is not a roadside viewpoint but a genuine backcountry destination: three kilometres of trail from the end of a forest road, through a landscape with no paths at all beyond it. For experienced hikers and nature lovers craving the rare sensation of walking where no human has set foot in a long time, Stensjön delivers.
