Bridal Veil Lookout
Bridal Veil Lookout is one of the Blue Mountains' most rewarding little viewpoints: a cliff-edge perch near Leura where Leura Falls Creek tumbles about 35 metres down a broad, sloping wall of sandstone, throwing up a mist that gives the cascade its veil-like name. From the platform you look down almost directly onto the falls while the great sweep of the Jamison Valley stretches out beyond them—a scene that has made this a favourite stop on the Prince Henry Cliff Walk and the Grand Cliff Top Walk. It is easy to reach on foot and quick to enjoy, yet rich enough to anchor a half-day of rambling. You can take the short detour to the lookout and turn back, or fold it into the Bridal Veil Falls circuit that dips into cool rainforest gullies and climbs past a string of other cliff-top views. After rain the waterfall is at its most spectacular, and even on grey days the track beneath the sandstone overhangs feels wonderfully atmospheric.
