Rose Garden

Tucked inside the President's Estate on Raisina Hill, the Rose Garden is one of the most-loved corners of Amrit Udyan—the landscaped gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan, long known as the Mughal Gardens. Here roses are the stars: heritage and hybrid beds cascade along a walled walk and open around fountains, in a setting first planted in the 1920s–30s when the gardens were laid out by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Delhi's horticulturist William R. Mustoe. It is a seasonal treat rather than an all-year park. The estate opens to the public for a limited spring window—roughly early February to late March—so timing your visit is the main thing to get right. Entry is free, but you must book a slot online in advance, and the garden is reached through Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan grounds. The nearest metro stop is Central Secretariat, with shuttle buses and ample parking at the gate.
