Dadar Chowpatty
Dadar Chowpatty is a beloved urban beach tucked along Mumbai's western shore in the heart of Dadar, where the Arabian Sea meets the rhythm of one of the city's most storied neighbourhoods. Unlike the better-known Girgaon Chowpatty or Juhu Beach, this stretch of sand carries a quieter, more local character—frequented by families on evening walks, joggers at dawn, and kite flyers on breezy afternoons. Come festival season, it transforms into the dramatic stage for Ganesh Visarjan, when thousands of devotees process here to immerse their Ganesha idols in the sea. The beach sits within easy reach of Dadar railway station and is bordered by Veer Savarkar Marg, with views stretching across the water toward the Bandra-Worli Sea Link—a sweeping cable-stayed bridge that glitters after dark. Street-food stalls line the shore, selling bhel puri, pav bhaji, and colourful shaved-ice gola, while the nearby Shivaji Park grounds and the Dadar flower market add texture to any visit.
