Baie des Pigeons
Baie des Pigeons is a secluded, wild beach on the north coast of Madagascar, the most tranquil of the famous Trois Baies near Diego Suarez (Antsiranana). With turquoise waters, a sweeping crescent of white sand, and dunes offering panoramic ocean views, it rewards the effort of getting there with a rare sense of solitude. The bay sits about four kilometres east of the fishing village of Ramena along a sandy coastal track, past the ruins of colonial military fortifications at Cap Miné. It is separated from the neighbouring Baie des Dunes by a rocky peninsula, giving it a hidden, almost secret quality that the more-visited bays lack.
