Museum of socialist vehicles
Housed in a former textile factory on the banks of the Jizera river in Železný Brod, the Museum of Socialist Vehicles is a four-hall celebration of Eastern Bloc motoring from the 1950s through the 1980s. The collection ranges from humble two-stroke Trabis and three-wheeled Velorexes to an armored ZIL limousine once driven by Soviet leader Yuri Andropov, with everything in between: Škoda development series, Tatra luxury sedans, Soviet Ladas, Moskvitches, Ukrainian Zaporozhets cars, East German Wartburgs, Jawa motorcycles, fire trucks, ambulances, and Public Security patrol cars. Founded in 2011 by a group of passionate collectors led by Pavel Kádaš, the museum has grown from a small village display into one of the most comprehensive collections of socialist-era vehicles in Central Europe. It holds a 4.7-star rating from nearly 500 Google reviews and is wheelchair accessible.
