Storvattnet
Storvattnet is a quiet forest lake about ten kilometres west of the town of Kramfors, sitting at 202 metres above sea level on the fringes of Sweden's High Coast. Roughly 1.7 square kilometres in size with about 11.5 kilometres of shoreline, it is the kind of inland water the norrländskt countryside is built from: spruce-clad hills close to the banks, clear, deep water, and very little traffic. A small but devoted group of visitors rate it highly, and it is mostly locals and anglers who make the short drive out to its shores. The draw here is simple outdoors life rather than organised sights. Storvattnet is a recognized fishing water in the SCA Kramfors fishing area, well regarded for trout and Arctic char along with perch and pike, and the surrounding boreal forest and neighbouring nature reserves make it a good base for a day of walking, fishing and silence close to a UNESCO-listed coastline.
