Arrowhead Lake
Arrowhead Lake is a small, unnamed-in-popular-culture body of water in the remote boreal country of northern Saskatchewan, 72 km northeast of the town of La Ronge. At just 234 acres with a 7-kilometre shoreline, it is the kind of lake that rewards the few who find it — an intimate clearing in the vast jack pine and black spruce forest of the Canadian Shield. There are no services, no boat launches, and no resorts here. Arrowhead Lake is a destination for experienced backcountry travellers who want solitude in one of Canada's great wilderness fishing regions. The Central Fishing Zone that surrounds it holds walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and other species, and the landscape of exposed granite, muskeg, and quiet water is quintessential boreal shield.
