Øyuvsvatn
Øyuvsvatn is a highland lake sitting at nearly 750 metres above sea level in the remote interior of Fyresdal municipality, Telemark, Norway. With an area of roughly 3.2 square kilometres and a shoreline stretching over 13 kilometres, it is one of the larger waters among the 377 named lakes in this heavily forested municipality. The lake feeds the Arendal river system via its outflow stream, Skarstøylåa, but since 1972 its natural flow has been interrupted by a dam and tunnel system that diverts water into a neighbouring catchment for hydropower generation at the Finndøla plant. This makes Øyuvsvatn an unusual place where wild highland scenery meets Norway's industrial water-management landscape.
