Ozero Rogovskoye
Lake Rogovskoye is a small, remote freshwater lake of about 0.5 square kilometers sitting at 94 meters elevation on the western edge of the Valdai Hills, straddling the border between Novgorod and Pskov oblasts. A glacial lake fed by underwater springs and surrounded by dense forest, it drains through the tiny River Tupichenka into the Lovat system and ultimately the Baltic Sea. The lake is best known to local anglers as a quiet, undisturbed fishery where pike, perch, bream, crucian carp, tench, catfish, and burbot thrive among thick shoreline vegetation and deep underwater pits. With no tourism infrastructure and the nearest town nearly 30 kilometers away, it rewards those who seek wilderness solitude rather than comfort.
