Ferris Wheel Cancun
On Cancún's hotel-zone strip, where the boulevard meets the Nichupté Lagoon, a slender observation wheel turns slowly above a seafront shopping village. Sky Wheel Cancún—marketed abroad as the Ferris Wheel Cancun—lifts riders about 65 to 70 metres into the air, delivering a 360° panorama that takes in the Caribbean, the white-sand beaches and the lagoon's mangrove channels in a single sweeping view. It is one of the tallest observation wheels in Latin America, designed and built by the Dutch firm Dutch Wheels, and it has become an easygoing, family-friendly landmark at the heart of the Zona Hotelera. Each rotation lasts only a quarter of an hour or so, yet it offers the clearest bird's-eye look at how Cancún's long sandbar city is laid out between two bodies of water.
