Kingpin Mountain
Kingpin Mountain is a 555-metre sandstone peak in Morton National Park, south of Sydney's Southern Highlands, offering one of the most thrilling short bushwalk climbs in the Shoalhaven River district. Reached from the Long Point Lookout car park near Tallong, the approach follows a narrow causeway saddle with dizzying drops on either side before the final knife-edge spur to the summit. The mountain rewards confident walkers with spectacular panoramas over the Shoalhaven River Gorge, McCallums Flat, and the surrounding escarpment country — views so good that experienced bushwalkers rate the Kingpin route as a more scenic descent than the easier tourist track below it.
