Şirince
Şirince is a whitewashed hill village perched eight kilometers above Selçuk, the gateway town to Ephesus. Its steep cobbled lanes are lined with 19th-century stone houses, its tasting rooms pour fruit wines you won't find anywhere else in Turkey, and its two surviving Greek Orthodox churches whisper of the community that lived here until 1923. It's the gentle, sun-drenched counterweight to a morning among ancient ruins — a place built for wandering, tasting and losing track of time.
