Wat Pa Lak Sila
Wat Pa Lak Sila is a small forest temple in the rural Soeng Sang district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, in the lower northeastern part of Thailand's Isan region. The name "Lak Sila" (หลักศิลา) means "stone pillar" or "stone marker," evoking the ancient boundary stones once set across the Khorat plateau. As a "wat pa" — forest temple — it belongs to the Thai monastic tradition that emphasizes meditation practice, simplicity, and integration with the natural surroundings. The temple sits in the village area of Nong Lak Sila and serves as a local spiritual center for the surrounding farming community. It has earned a 4.6-star rating from the few who have reviewed it on Google Maps, and photographs show a peaceful, low-key monastic setting typical of the rural forest temples scattered across Nakhon Ratchasima's countryside.
