Kaatza Station Museum
The Kaatza Station Museum sits inside Lake Cowichan's original 1913 Canadian Pacific railway station, a restored building that is itself a piece of the story it tells. Run by volunteers of the Kaatza Historical Society, this compact community museum brings the logging, railroading, and pioneer history of the Cowichan Lake region to life through carefully curated rooms and an outdoor yard full of vintage rolling stock. Entry is by donation, the visit takes thirty minutes to an hour, and the grounds double as a scenic stop in Saywell Park beside the Cowichan River—making this one of the easiest and most rewarding detours on a Vancouver Island road trip.
